CM-06 · The daily chemistry mystery
How Chemle works
Chemle Analytics
Operating manual
- 01
A new case is loaded every day.
Everyone gets the same unknown substance. It changes at 00:00 Vienna time.
- 02
Pick Easy or Hard.
Easy has everyday substances and approachable clues. Hard is a separate daily case for chemists, with expert clues. Each mode keeps its own streak.
- 03
Name the substance.
An element, a molecule, a material, a food, a medicine: anything with interesting chemistry.
- 04
You have 6 ml of sample.
Every analysis uses 1 ml, so watch the gauge on the display. Spelling and capitalisation don’t matter, and common synonyms count.
- 05
Negative? The next clue appears.
Clues start general and get more specific with every miss. The printout keeps all of them.
- 06
Solve the case before the sample runs out.
Keep your streak and share your result without spoiling the answer.
A solved case
01ORGAnimal-derived
> Wool: Negative · Material
02CHMMostly fructose and glucose
> Sugar: Class match · Food
03ORGMade by bees from nectar
> Honey: Match
Solved in 3/6, with 3 ml of sample to spare.
Reading the lamps
Match. You found today’s substance.
Class match. A known substance in the same class (e.g. both are elements).
Negative. A known substance from a different class.
No reference. A term we don’t recognise yet. It still uses 1 ml.
The class filter under the display keeps score for you: a lamp goes dark when its class is ruled out, and turns green once the class is confirmed.
